The parish of Brookland, extends from Brenzett in the north in a south westerly direction to East Guldeford in the south. The shape of the parish is rectangular and thin, being approximately four mile in length and just over one mile in width at its widest point. Nearest large towns to Brookland are Ashford (12 miles), Tenterden (11 miles) and Rye (7 miles).

Brookland is a small community of 193 dwellings with 394 people on the Electoral Roll and about 450 residents in total. The village has a primary school, church, pub with restaurant and a modern, versatile village hall.
